As I said in the title when this printer works it's great, but when it doesn't it's a nightmare. E.g. printer alignment - somehow this randomly resets itself and after say printing 20 pages it begins to print askew and you need to realign it again. Or standby - if you leave it on standby overnight and try to print in the morning, suddenly there is a printer error or it has disconnected from the network, or it has frozen and requires you to physically get up and switch the printer off then on again - this also seems to happen randomly and is the only device in the house that has WiFi issues despite being on the same table top as the router. Bought it a year ago and I've had to do a full reset/restore to factory settings 5 times since the initial setup, because the software (hp smart) can't detect the printer. So when it works and is in a good mood, it prints nicely including photos and I've printed on 300gsm without issues, plus the instant ink subscription is worth it for the amount we print, but when it's not working it can be frustrating and stressful to figure out.
