How do I check the levels on a Lexmark toner?

To check the ink levels on a Lemark printer, there are a few methods.

 • From a Windows computer:

 1. Select “Control Panel” from the start menu and then navigate to the “Devices & Printers” section

 2. Locate the printer icon for your Lexmark printer and right-click.

 3. From the options click “Printer Properties” and then “Preferences”.

 4. Lexmark printer users will now be able to view the current ink/toner levels for their Lexmark printer.

 • From a Mac computer:

 1. Click the Apple icon from the dock/taskbar and access “System Preferences”.

 2. Select the Print & Scan options and then select your Lexmark printer from the list.

 3. Click “Supply Levels” to display the current ink/toner levels for your Lexmark printer.

Where is the ink cartridge located on a Lexmark printer?

Ink cartridges location can be different depending on the model of the printer. Full instructions can be found in your user guide. For most printers, the Lexmark toner cartridges are located behind the access panel on the front of your printer.

How to change the ink cartridge in Lexmark printers?

The easiest way to change your Lexmark toner will be explained in the User Guide. This is usually supplied with the printer but if you don’t have it the User Guide can be downloaded free off the Lexmark website. Alternatively, follow the simple steps in our guide below to change your Lexmark toner cartridges.

 1. Turn the printer on.

 2. Press the front panel release button to access your Lexmark toner cartridges.

 3. Pull out the Lexmark print cartridge tray.

 4. Remove the used Lexmark toner cartridge.

 5. Unpack the new Lexmark ink printer cartridges by peeling off the tape and sticker, and avoid touching the gold contacts or metal nozzles.

 6. Insert the new Lexmark ink cartridges matching the toner colour to the colour on the tray.

 7. Press the cartridge down to lock it into place.

 8. Insert the print cartridge tray, and then close the front panel.

 9. Lexmark printers need an alignment page printing after toner replacement. To do this load paper into the printer then press the arrow keys to highlight “Yes” and press “Select” and the printer should print an alignment page

 1. Go to the Lexmark cartridge collection program page.

 2. Select a “Postal Box” or an individual toner cartridge carrier.

 3. Sign up for “Collected by Lexmark”

 4. Arrange Eco-Friendly disposal with Lexmark.
