Xerox WorkCentre 6505DN A4 Colour Laser Multifunction Printer - DISCONTINUED

A quality printing machine except my one will now be on its 4th imaging unit in 2 years if they will provide it. Xerox are now refusing to supply another after having problems from the start. When it works its top printing but thats me finished with xerox. Great printer, not the imaging units.

Very pleased with the first one I bought, bought two others and will buy another two. Easy to set up, (if you are not tecky you may need help to set up the scan to computer facility, but it is all spelled out in the manual and there are on-line guides). Good quality print, rapid output, excellent duplex, scanning & faxing is very straightforward with faxing from computers, scanning to computers and the free OCR software and Paperport document handling software makes this a very complete package. How do they do it for the price? One printer had a small broken part out of the box that was dealt with promptly under warranty, so service is good too. Gives small offices a large office facility. Well worth buying and it is a boon being able to print your own colour letterhead & presentations.

It doesn't have a beeping fit every 5 minutes! I've ran this printer for over a month now to properly test it, with over 5000 sheets printed. The toner cartridges are on the small side so can see the black being replaced once a month with heavy use. The setup for the scanner was straight forward when using the web control panel and replaced our exisiting unit with ease. The overall print quality is what you would expect froma Xerox, high quality with deep colours. Purchasing from printerbase was also a delight, ordered 4pm and had it before I arrived at work the following morning.

A nice unit. Takes a bit of technical know how to set it all up, but it is possible, if you're technically minded. My son helped me. Only real complaint is that while it does the duplex printing I can?t get it to do duplex scan /copy. You have to flip double sided pages manually and not use the ADF. Moreover it doesn't have the ability to hold more than two scanned sheets in memory when performing a manual two sided copy, so if you have many double sided pages to copy / scan, they must each be done manually, one at a time. Other MFPs seem to do better at this. The drivers work on Linux also.
