Ricoh SP-2230 A4 Document Scanner

The Ricoh SP-2230 is a compact, affordable document scanner for home offices, small businesses and individual desks that need fast, reliable scanning straight to a PC. It scans at 30 pages per minute single-sided and 60 images per minute double-sided at A4. Its 80-sheet automatic document feeder lets you load a full stack of paperwork and let it run. It measures just 292 x 163 x 150 mm and weighs 3.3 kg, so it fits next to a monitor without taking over the desk.

Despite its size, the SP-2230 handles a wide mix of documents. It accepts paper from 27 to 413 g/m², plastic ID cards up to 1.4 mm thick, and A3 documents folded in half. Long-page scanning reaches up to 6,096 mm. You can feed mixed batches without sorting them first. Ultrasonic multi-feed detection and image-based paper protection catch double-fed or skewed pages before they cause a jam or a missed page. Dual CIS sensors with Clear Image Capture deliver sharp scans at 600 dpi optical resolution (up to 1200 dpi output) in colour, greyscale or mono.

Setup is simple: plug the SP-2230 into your computer with a single USB 3.2 cable and follow the guided setup. A direct USB connection keeps things fast with no network configuration to manage, which makes this the ideal choice for a single user or a dedicated scanning station. If you need to share a scanner across a team, look at the SP-2230N, which adds Gigabit Ethernet and PC-free scanning.

Ricoh’s PaperStream software is included. PaperStream IP is the TWAIN/ISIS driver that cleans up and straightens images automatically. PaperStream Capture handles batch scanning and repeatable workflows. PaperStream ClickScan offers one-touch scanning to the cloud or straight into Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The scanner works with Windows 10 and 11, and it’s ENERGY STAR and RoHS compliant.
