HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP 4801f A4 Colour Multifunction Laser Printer

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP 4801f is an A4 colour laser multifunction printer that prints, copies, scans and faxes, for small teams of up to 10 users. It outputs colour and mono pages at up to 33 ppm, and the first colour page arrives in 6.7 seconds. Automatic two-sided printing comes as standard, and the recommended monthly volume is 1,600 to 4,200 pages, so it suits a busy office.

Paper documents go into a 50-sheet automatic document feeder that scans both sides, at up to 39 ppm in mono and 32 ppm in colour at 600 x 600 dpi. Staff can send scans straight to email or save them as searchable PDFs. The built-in fax has a 33.6 Kbps modem and fax forwarding, and everything is controlled from a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen.

Standard paper capacity is 300 sheets: a 250-sheet main tray plus a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. Two optional 550-sheet trays raise that to 1,400 sheets, and the output bin holds 150. For connectivity there’s Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 2.0 ports and Bluetooth, with Apple AirPrint and Mopria for printing from phones and tablets. Wireless is available through the optional HP Jetdirect 3200w accessory. A 1.4 GHz processor and 4 GB of memory handle complex jobs without slowing down.

HP Wolf Security protects the device with HP SureStart self-healing firmware, continuous malware monitoring, a Trusted Platform Module 2.0 and encrypted storage. HP FutureSmart and Web Jetadmin let IT teams manage it across a fleet. It uses HP 240A and 240X TerraJet toner cartridges, and introductory cartridges are in the box (around 2,300 pages black and 2,000 pages per colour). The printer comes with a one-year onsite warranty. This printer is enabled for HP Dynamic Security: it works only with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip or electronic circuitry, and periodic firmware updates may block cartridges that previously worked.
