Customer Questions & Answers
Q: Will it be compatible with Windows 10?
Question by: Tom on 29 May 2017 10:11:00
A: Hi Tom,
thanks for getting in touch. Yes, the Dymo 450 is compatible with Windows 10 (32 & 64-Bit) but we would advise you to download latest drivers from the Dymo website, which you can find the instructions to here - http://bit.ly/2rp7H96.
I hope this helps.

Q: I can’t see any inks listed for this LabelWriter? How does it work?
Question by: Pat on 16 Jan 2017 10:58:00
A: Hi Pat, thanks for getting in touch.
The Dymo LabelWriter 450 is a thermal printer, so it doesn’t require any inks or toners to be able to print. All you need to do is purchase the Dymo labels, making this label maker very cheap to run and ideal for any busy office.

Nice little machine however...
On the Dymo website it clearly showed that it was compatible with Royal Mail for printing out postage, it is not.
Indeed it shows this option in the software provided with the machine also.
Royal Mail does not support Dymo, the whole idea of purchasing this item was that I would not have to travel to a post office to mail items and use a post box instead.
I consider this misleading and I would not have purchased the item if I had known.
Great little label printer!

For a compact unit this is a useful tool, great functionality with simple to use systems. With the latest updates to its Microsoft Office functionality it brings another aspect to how useful it can be. I would like to see it simpler to adjust the design whilst exporting information from Office programs.

This is our 5th printer same type - some are turbo and some aren't and for what we need you can not notice the difference in the speed!

The service was absolutely marvelous. Ordered late afternoon arrived early next day .
Really good tech

This is a fantastic machine. Upgrade on my Dymo 400. Fast, reliable and works a treat. I would ask anyone who needs a label writer. To go for this one if you use at home or small Business. Plus you get an extra year warrantee for peace of mind. The price is so competitive as well

This is a quick and convenient method of getting address labels without using printer ink, using copy & paste cuts down error of incorrect address details
Great value and good looking
Review by Colin Jones-Evans (Posted on 21/03/2014)
Very pleased with this. I'd had an older Dymo printer which gave up the ghost after about 7 years, so I was quite happy to got for another one. Their network printers are expensive in my view so a USB one seemed an easier way forward. The only thing you have to ensure during installation is to install the drivers first before you connect the printer to your PC. The software is OK. A bit quirky but seems to work well enough. I didn't use to be a fan of the Outlook and Word extensions which seemed to slow Outlook down in particular, but so far so good.
If you register your printer with Dymo you get a three year warranty.
Nice label printer but not fully Mac compatible
Review by Alan (Posted on 06/01/2014)
Nice looking printer that makes great labels but doesn't software not fully working in Mavericks. Wont import Mac Address Book. The work around I use is to design labels and save them to a folder. Then a double click on a label icon loads it into software for printing. Don't let this put you off because this tiny printer is a gem. 4 stars on account of unimpressive software.
Design faults: 1 No latch on the hinged cover. 2 Deeply recessed cable pathway.
Review by E s Gathercole (Posted on 01/10/2013)
This is the sixth one I have bought of these in 4 years, they are a nice machine but they have one fault, if you leave a printed label hanging out of it when you print another one the design of the machine is that it pulls the one hanging out back in slightly and it can get wrapped around the thermal roller and the glue sticks to it rendering the machine useless.
It's happened to my previous five machines but I reckon it's my fault for not tearing the previous one out in the first place, and the fact that I keep buying them, tells me I like the machine, but its not worth buying the turbo or the 450 plus because the same thing happens, only faster.
It's fine printing a large number of the same label, it's just when you change the text and print a fresh one,
A great starter option!
Review by Maria (Posted on 01/07/2013)
A great product, easy option to get started, we set up in minutes, despite not having a cd facility on our computer and were printing within 10 minutes. Using the machine couldn't be easier once you're set and the purchase process was perfect. delivery was quick and they followed up over the phone to ensure we registered for the guarantee and to remind us of discounts for further purchases on consumables, a great detail.

Quick and easy
Review by Aled (Posted on 27/06/2013)
Quick and easy were the first words that came to mind when considering this printers review. It took around 15 minutes, from opening the box-seal to printing some test lables ( I wasnt rushing the job). Nothing to catch me out and the software does the job. Ive used high spec thermal printers in the past and some can be incredibly tedious to set-up correctly, this was the opposit.
Labels were clear and jobs completed quite fast.
If its printing labels you want, this will do the job!
Perfect For Small Business!

I run a small online retail business and used to have to write some of the labels out by hand. The label writer is easy to use and so much faster as it stores addresses, I can print as many as I need and quickly!

Print text, 20 types of barcodes, images & pictures, date & time, serial numbers and much more on this printer.
Open the box, plug in the USB, Mains adaptor and load with labels. Simple as 1-2-3! This machine is a great improvement over the LW320 I did have.
Best on the Market!!

The Dymo LabelWriter 450, is the second printer that I own. The 400 is great with lots of uses, but the 450 is the cream. It has some new features and is quicker to use.
Does the job well

God kit - misleading website
Review by Richell (Posted on 17/04/2012)
As part of the sales process Printerbase indicate that many printers come without printer to PC cable, and suggest you buy one. I thought I'd save time by ordering one. In fact the Dymo comes with one. Sales staff then blames me for not checking box contents list. Surely they should include that step in the order processing routine? Don't be caught out like I was.
Professional-looking labels made easy!
Review by Tim Haskell (Posted on 13/02/2012)
Having used a Dymo LabelWriter in my previous company, Dymo was an easy choice for me when I needed a way to make professional-looking labels whenever I wanted them. The LabelWriter 450 is quick and intuitive to set up straight out of the box and within minutes of opening it I was able to run out great looking labels for an important mailshot. Dymo LabelWriter 450 - highly recommended and delivered quickly at a very competitive price by Printerbase!
Good kit man!
Review by Normski (Posted on 14/12/2011)
We print many labels and this is our third Dymo 450. The others didn't break down, or wear out, we broke them :-( But even with bits snapped off they kept right on churning out the labels.. We've given them away to deserving label printing people and treated ourselves to a brand new shiny one. Our posting department deserves it. And it is Christmas, after all. Altogether a damn fine bit of kit. buy one now!!!
