I got this scanner in order to replace its predecessor, a Canon P150, which gave me great service for several years. Although the image quality on the new P215 is very good overall I am far less happy with the replacement product. Although the P215 in theory has the capability to scan multiple pages in reality this is not possible with this unit, it will always attempt to drag in all of the pages if there are only a handful and scan the front and back as though they were a single page. Alternatively if there are a larger number of pages to scan it will drag through a handful at a time and skip large chunks of the document. Since purchase I have been obliged to feed each sheet into the device by hand individually. Finally the device is incapable of detecting fairly thin paper sheets altogether and simply reports that there is nothing in the hopper to scan at all. Overall I think that Canon have replaced the P150 with an inferior product and I would not recommend it to others.
