Since I had a 1612 before this one I already knew that the brother in this mono range was very good printer. Indeed the best printer I have ever had. Getting rid of colour if you don't need it in my view is a better option.

I only wanted a small print/copy/scan. printer for low home use and this one fits the bill. The only thing I could fault is when I come to replace the drum unit it is very very very expensive.

good value for money - cheap rather lightweight plastic, open/exposed paper storage etc - but typical for modern low price. Works well for me W10 USB + wifi including A ndroid Wifi with the correct brother apps - both print and scan

Can you advise if this printer scans from a feeder, i.e several pages to create on document? Thanks

- Hi Donna, Thank you for your email. No this machine only has a flat bed scanner therefore you can't feed several pages when scanning. However take a look at the Brother MFC-1910W - https://www.printerbase.co.uk/brother-mfc-1910w-a4-mono-laser-mfp.html This has a 10 sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning and copying. It still has the glass flat bed scanner if you do want to scan other types of documents. Please do let me know if you require any further information. Many Thanks Stephen Thomas

I understand that this printer comes with a software CD, is it necessary? I do not have a CD reader anymore, can software be downloaded instead? Thank you. Xavier

- Hi Jenny Thank you for your question The Brother DCP-1610W has both wireless and USB connectivity. If you're printing wirelessly, a USB cable is not required. A USB cable is only needed when hardwiring the printer into the PC/Laptop Hope this helps Thank you The Printerbase Team
