The HP M404: A replacement for the M402 mono laser printer

The HP M404 mono laser is set to replace the ever-popular M402 – here’s what you can expect from the upgrade.

For years, the HP M402 mono laser has been an ever-reliable workhorse that sits in the corner of many offices. However, if you are now looking for a replacement model, the HP M404 is a natural replacement. It keeps all the fantastic features of the HP M402, and without compromising, gently updates them.

With great print speed and cost-efficiency, the HP M404 is a printer designed as much for the new business as the established market-leader.

The HP M404 is a great addition to the line of HP printers which is ideal for an office that needs a reliable, simple to operate machine. This brand-new printer will easily last as long as its predecessor.

Note: if you’re still using your HP M402 don’t worry, we’ll be selling toner for the M402 for the foreseeable future.

Smart and simple

HP has brilliant form when it comes to marrying the printer-output with smart technology, and this printer is no exception. Building on the success of the HP M402, the M404 wakes up fast and starts printing immediately: perfect for offices that rely on a speedy turn-around.

Wi-Fi is simple to set-up and makes good use of cloud technology. The cloud function is a breeze to set-up and provides a reliable way to print from any device, in any place, perfect for remote meetings and large workplaces. This is the perfect way to upgrade your current model.

Sustainable business

Once again HP have pulled ahead of the competition when it comes to eco-friendly credentials. This printer is an excellent example of why we love their sustainable features. Duplex printing is swift and reliable, and HP makes it easy to take advantage of this feature with faultless engineering.

This printer features the ever-popular auto seal removal technology in its cartridges, which ensures that you can replace ink without messes or spills, and without waste. Importantly, this model provides an upgrade over previous printers by increasing energy efficiency by an incredible 18%, an improvement that will benefit both the environment and your budgets.

Increase speed, but keep costs down

As ever, this is a solution from HP, which prioritises cost efficiency without compromising on quality. This pays off substantially in the print speed, which comes in at 38 pages per minute, and barely decreases when employing the duplex setting.

The first page out is ready in 6.3 seconds, which is an achievement. The HP 402 mono printer is renowned for being a reliable workhorse, and this new model builds on its reputation. The monthly duty cycle for this LaserJet is 80,000 pages, which makes it a dependable addition to any office.

With an upper cartridge yield of approximately 10,000 pages, this is top of the class when it comes to efficiency, and staff will love how easy the cartridges and paper are to change.

Hey Alex,
Unfortunately not. The HP M404 takes a different toner series. These are the 59A and 59X series.
Here’s a link for the supported toner on the M404 range: https://www.printerbase.co.uk/ink-toner-cartridges/hp/laserjet-pro/laserjet-pro-m404n.html
