Samsung CLP-320 and CLP-325 Review

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Please take a look at our video relating to the Samsung CLP-320 and CLP-325 Colour Laser Printers:

Nick’s Thoughts:

Samsung were the first manufacturer to design and built a small/lightweight colour laser printer that will fit nicely on anyone’s desk and when their first CLP-300 came out I was very impressed with what they had achieved. There have been a few tweeks along the way and their latest CLP-320 and CLP325 range are ideal for anyone short on space.

If you want a workhorse machine, I would recommend moving up the Samsung range for something with lower running costs and faster print speeds but for light use the CLP-320 CLP-325 are ideal. If you need advice please call our sales team on 0800 170 7234 or 0161 308 5800.

Lexmark C540n Printer – the ultimate entry level colour laser?…

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Image: Lexmark C540n Printer

Historically Lexmark had quite an unfortunate reputation thanks to their old inexpensive inkjet range, which was often given free with PCs, monitors, etc. But things have changed and Lexmark are quickly altering people’s opinion. Their new range of multifunction inkjets are worlds apart from their earlier models and we’re the first to recommend them.

This moves us nicely to Lexmark’s entry level C540n colour laser printer, which is the next logical step-up from their business inkjet range. This machine is ideal for a home or small office with a modest print requirement of up to 500 pages per month. Unlike their inkjet range, this machine only prints (no copy, scan or fax) but thanks to this machine being a toner based printer you will get professional looking printouts at print speeds of up to 20 pages per minute.

But don’t take our word for it…

PC Pro
“An unassuming colour laser that offers rapid high-quality prints and network connectivity all for a low price”
Rating: 6 out of 6

MacUser
“We liked several of the colour lasers on test this time, but the C540N is the clear all-round winner”
Rating: 5 out of 5

WedUser
“…all-round flair makes it an accomplished printer at a fair price – an obvious candidate for our Gold Award”…
Rating: 5 out of 5

Xerox Phaser 6000 and 6010 Review

Monday, May 16th, 2011

Please take a look at our video relating to the new Xerox Phaser 6000 and 6110 Colour LED Printers:

Nick’s Thoughts:

Xerox have designed a truely amazing machine and its lightweight design and small footprint will be a hit in any home or small workgroup environment. Its print speed is pretty impressive considering its size and the print quality is excellent. One thing I love is how Xerox have made replacing the toner a doddle – some small laser printers can be a nightmare.

If you want a workhorse machine the running costs may prove a bit exorbitant so you should look at one of Xerox’s more expensive models but for light use it’s ideal. If you need advice please call our sales team on 0800 170 7234 or 0161 308 5800.

Xerox ColorQube 8570 Review

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

Please take a look at our video relating to the new Xerox ColorQube 8570 Solid Ink Printer:

Nick’s Thoughts:

This machine performed well under internal product testing and we found that its performance was on par with the discontinued Phaser 8560 (the ColorQube 8570 was slightly faster when printing in its “Fast Colour” mode).

The noticeable areas of improvement are the way the inks are now loaded into the machine and the added ability to remove them if necessary. The new inks require less heat to become useable, which has allowed the ColorQube 8570 to become Energy Star compliant. Other improvements such as extra memory on the base models and a more powerful processor will help this machine perform well even in the most demanding office.

I’m a huge fan of Xerox’s Solid Ink technology and use one on a daily basis. The solid ink output is totally different to both inkjet and laser so it really depends what you expect from a printer, which is why I’d recommend getting in touch prior to purchase:

Lexmark T650, T652, T654, T656 Review

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

Please take a look at our video relating to the Lexmark T65x Series Mono Laser Printer:

Nick’s Thoughts:

This machine performed well and managed to keep up with its claimed print speed of 53ppm. The print quality produced good monochrome text and graphics. I particularly liked the locking 2nd paper tray, which stabilises the unit when connecting the 3 additional 550 sheet paper trays and 2000 sheet high capacity feeder.
