Ricoh HotSpot Express launched for mobile workers

Although the new world of work is becoming increasingly mobile, workers often hit the wall when they need to print from smartphones and tablets.  That’s why Ricoh have expanded the options for mobile-minded organisations with Ricoh HotSpot Express – an easy, affordable way for companies to turn on mobile printing for employees, partners and guests.

With Ricoh HotSpot Express, authorised mobile workers and guests can print content from their mobile device to any network printer through a mobile app, email, Web print portal or Windows application. Since Ricoh HotSpot Express is an on-premise solution, print jobs never go beyond the firewall.

“Today’s workers expect their information in the right place at the right time to make time-sensitive decisions, so it doesn’t cut it when the critical information you need to share is trapped in your phone,” said John Brophy, Vice President, Product Marketing, Ricoh.

“Paper documents are still relevant collaboration tools, and that means workers need to be able to print on demand. Successful organisations need to provide their employees with this level of information mobility today.”

Ricoh HotSpot Express powered by PrinterOn® is the latest offering in the HotSpot mobile printing family. An ideal solution for organizations with basic mobile printing requirements, Ricoh HotSpot Express can be easily upgraded as needs change to HotSpot Enterprise for more functionality, with features such as cluster server support for scalability, advanced mobile device management, software integration, Oracle ERP printing and API access for custom workflow integrations.

HotSpot Printer/HotSpot MFP is also available and uses the public cloud to move information from workers’ devices to printers.

Following a quick download, organisations can use an intuitive Web interface to deploy Ricoh HotSpot Express immediately across multiple users, networks and locations with little or no IT intervention.

Organisations can employ the same printing workflows and security controls they always have, integrating it with LDAP directory services, mobile device management solutions and print management systems. For additional security, organisations can require passwords for guests to use Ricoh HotSpot Express and for anyone to release documents from the printer.
