Social Playground, an Australian digital entertainment agency, have announced the launch of a new Instagram printer in the United Kingdom.
The idea behind the concept is to assist event organisers truly engage with the generation behind the ‘selfie’ craze that has swept across social media.
The Live Instagram Printer, which is described by the company as a twist on a traditional photobooth, gives smartphone and Instagram users the ability to take a photo, add the event hashtag and then collect the branded print of their photo within one minute.
Business director at Social Playground, Matt Barbelli, said: “As a result, consumers are more likely to share multiple photos. Offering the novelty Polaroid-style print-out ensures consumers remember to add the brand hashtag to every photo.”
Social Playground has recently partnered with well-established brands, such as Topshop, Topman, Adidas and Spotify, among others. In fact, the agency’s first experience of the events market in the UK came through working with ASOS, where they provided their Instagram printer services for the online fashion retailer’s Epic Summer event.
“Launching in London has been an exciting step for Social Playground. With the number of events happening every day, we are excited to bring a fresh way of engaging consumers and guests to the market, with no doubt given Instagram’s popularity in the UK,” Barbelli added.
The Live Instagram Printer is available for event hire, annual licensing and permanent installations, with Social Playground also offering the Live Instagram Feed service – a data visualisation tool that captures Instagram photos as they are being uploaded and shows them as part of an animated display on a large screen at an event.
