At the recent Canon EXPO in Paris, it was revealed that Canon have been working on their first 3D printer concept, which has been developed entirely in house.
The main idea behind the Canon 3D printer concept is to make the whole production process faster than it ever has been before.
The Canon 3D printer uses a resin-based system to give any 3D models created superior strength, making it ideal for creating prototypes or even producing small runs of any printed products.
Canon are aiming to provide a smart alignment between data, image capture and output for a variety of industries, including architecture, education, manufacturing and engineering.
To help with this, Canon have said that they have reduced the time-consuming post-processing, as well as offering faster modelling speeds and setting times.
As they make their first foray into 3D printing technology, Canon have partnered with 3D Systems in Europe.
