I think that both machines feel robust, look stylish and are quite simple to use. For usability, the MFC-9970CDW definitely has the edge over the DCP-9055CDN thanks to its fantastic touch screen, which makes everything so much easier. Print quality on both was good but I was much more impressed by the MFC-9970CDW thanks to its single-pass double-sided scanner, the ability to forward all faxes to an email address to save toner and scan directly to an email address without requirements of a PC running specialist software.
