Apple AirPrint technology wirelessly connects to selected printers and don’t think you’re restricted to printing photos. AirPrint makes it simple to print your emails and other documents too.

Apple use the line “What you see is what you print” this is because if you can open it on your iPad, or iPhone, chances are you can print it with AirPrint. AirPrint works with Safari, Mail, Photos and iWork.

   Do you plan to stock the Lantronix xPrintServer when it is available? It sits on your network, attached to your printer’s network interface, and allows iOS devices to print to non-AirPrint printers. Seems to have good support for older Kyocera printers. I read an American blog about it, it will cost $149 in USA, and a list of currently supported printers is at http://www.lantronix.com/pdf/xPrintServer_Supported-Printers.pdf. It looks a promising alternative for businesses that want to print to non-domestic printers, from iOS. I don’t know if the device emulates AirPrint.

   We metioned the Lantronix in our Buyers Guide last year, it is something that we have been looking at along with other solutions. I will do regular post to keep everyone up-to-date in regards to AirPrint and other wireless print solutions. We like to test everything first to ensure it will work and how well, so watch this space…
